"Best kept Oceanside secret south of the city"
Also known locally as Port Coogee (southern part of the suburb). North Coogee is a split stretches from the southern end of the South Beach estate in South Fremantle towards “Old Coogee”. Port Coogee is the marina area. Surrounded by apartments and two storey houses. A relatively new suburb, it is still being developed and currently has a Dome Cafe, and the Port Coogee Village shopping centre (Woolworths, BWS, Newsagent, Pharmacy, Asian Bakery, Florist and Opthmologist). There are also a couple of take away cafes outside the shopping centre, Caffeissimo, and a doctors surgery. Housing is well priced given the proximity to the ocean (500m or less in most cases), a man made children’s beach with water play park, a snorkel trail around the shipwrecks and several open spaces. We have lived here for 6 months and love the neighbourhood. Everyone is friend,y and our new neighbours have made us feel very welcome. The ongoing building works, and minimum public transport service are a bit of pain, but give it time and this will be the Oceanside suburb to be.
