"The Centre of Gravity is Nambour"
As Young Urban Professionals (aka Yuppies) in their early 30s, we moved from the Northern Beaches in Sydney to Nambour because we couldn't afford the Sydney house prices. Why we chose Nambour instead of Noosa/Maroochydore/Mooloolaba/Caloundra? Because it's the centre of gravity in the Sunshine Coast. I like the beach, whilst my other half likes the mountains. Nambour is halfway between. Also, everything we need is within a 5 -30min radius. Hospitals: 1 min drive; Train Station: 2 min drive; Airport: 15 min drive: University: 15 min drive; Mapleton: 10 min drive; Brisbane: 1 hr and 10 mins drive; Maroochydoore/Sunshine Plaza/Beaches: 20 - 25 min drive; Caloundra: 25 min drive; Noosa: 30 min drive; Big Pineapple: 8 min drive. Bli Bli Castle: 12 mins. Montville and Maleny: 30 mins. We're also near some of the Sunshine Coasts best schools like Sunshine Coast Grammar School and Nambour Christian College to name a couple. We're not over run with tourists. Life is great! The temperature is cooler than Brisbane in summer, and warmer than Brisbane in winter. We don't get floods either unlike other parts of the Sunshine Coast. In Nambour, we have lifestyle.
