Moonee Ponds

"Best suburb in Melbourne and way underrated"

When we moved to VIC from QLD we had no ties to Melbourne and looked all over the city for the ideal suburb in which to buy and raise our growing family. We looked at the inner east and south of the city and found that the access to the city and traffic along the main roads was too prohibitive. We had visited the beautiful Poynton's nursery in Essendon/Moonee Ponds with friends and when we discovered Moonee Ponds it was like an amazing discovery; here was a suburb that had everything we were after: Every public transport option, parks, great shopping, gorgeous period houses, the river precinct, great schools and sporting facilities. We looked on a map and when a house came up for sale that was walking distance to all these things we bought it.

That was about 18 months ago and I can honestly say that Moonee Ponds and the surrounding area is the most fantastic place for families in Melbourne, you are close to the city but it feels like a destination in itself. It takes only a few minutes to get into the city, has a vibrant community with lots happening and is a convenient and pleasant place to live.
