"Quiet street with access to funky local shopping, close to park and beach"
When I lived here there wasn't much activity on the street, but there were near-by places to find coffee, shop for funky gear and meet up with friends. The Art theatre shows foreign and revival movies. Park Pantry restaurant is great for good home style fare. Walking or biking are great ways to get around.
There are both apartments and houses on the street. You do need to make sure to lock up your valuables.
There's a huge park nearby with kids' play areas and open spaces, great for picnics or tossing a ball. The beach is just beyond.

"Beautiful homes, walkway park follows the beach."
Lovely Craftsman style homes just a block or two from the beach and some larger places along Ocean Blvd. A small museum has lovely grounds to visit.
