After 2 years we would make the following observations:-
The train service is not flash but it’s good for going to the city and the airport.
Living near Mt Coochin gives us plenty of exercise and we can walk to town in 30mins.
People do take dogs in the National Park but that’s dog people for you.Best not to comment or there will be abuse and threats of violence.
Exceeding the 50kph suburban speed limit is mandatory.Police not sighted so far in our area.
Burning off backyard waste is a threat to community health and the environment and occurs on most days including under cover of darkness.2years of complaints to our local councillor and the Sunshine Coast Council have not provided any relief,in fact one of the council environmental officers doesn’t see a problem and was very insulting and patronising during a conversation that lasted about 20 minutes.Air quality is worse than the city so stay away if you value your health.The concept of duty of care seems missing from our local govt.
In conclusion we would be ok here if it wasn’t for the burners but the reality is that the council won’t help so we will probably be off soon before smoke inhalation kills us.
It’s pretty ordinary to have to put up with this kind of thing when most communities banned it many years ago:-it never occurred to us that people still burned off -it’s 2019 not1920.We find it ridiculous that the council are after a biosphere listing.
