Ashgrove

"Friendly and convenient"

Ashgrove has a lot of lovely old houses, wide leafy streets and beautiful parks everywhere. It has a Coles, Woolworths and Aldi, and a few coffee shops and restaurants. The houses are gracious and old, with good proportions, real family homes as opposed to workers cottages. There is a library, private and public schools which score extremely well on Naplan, doctors, banks - everything you need really. On the downside, it could use more footpaths, more family friendly restaurants and more 'vibe' - it is unfortunate that Waterworks Rd cuts through the main shopping area, making it not very pedestrian friendly. On the plus side, the fact that Waterworks Rd cuts through Ashgrove means the public transport (buses) is excellent and frequent.
