Carbine Street

"A street with all-round appeal"

Carbine Street is located in Donvale in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, which forms one of the "Leafy Eastern Suburbs" of greater Melbourne. Running parallel and between both Blackburn and Springvale Roads, this street is an ‘ideal’ place to live that is close to shops, health services, public transport, schools and parkland.

The street is well presented with mostly modern architecture and large brick homes, quite a number being two storeys. There is a wide nature strip in the eastern side of the street which gives a green feel to the environs. There are a number of schools within walking distance as well as a church and private primary school actually in the street.

Two minutes from Carbine Street, the Blackburn Road village offers a range of small shops, a bakery, medical centre and pharmacy, as well as a selection of restaurants and cafes. Also located just five minutes away is "The Pines" mall. Not too big and not too small, this mall of shops houses a complete range of retail outlets as well as three major supermarkets and a large chain retailer.

Within easy walking or biking distance is the walking/cycling track along the Mullum Mullum creek. This is a fantastic piece of nature reserve right in the heart of the suburb. The reserve also houses tennis, bowling and field hockey sports clubs, as well as an equestrian centre. Also close by are football, cricket and soccer clubs. The cycle track eventually joins the Yarra River track which runs all the way to the city centre. Also within a 5-10 minute drive is Warrandyte and the Yarra River which is a very popular destination and also great for swimming.

Getting around is a breeze from Carbine Street as well. Just 5 minutes down the road is the Eastern Freeway which connects you to the city as well as the South Eastern Suburbs. Bus lines also run from Springvale Road and The Pines shopping centre.

Overall Carbine Street has a great feel about it. It houses mostly young couples and families, who enjoy the local amenities, schools and safe environment.
