Murwillumbah

"Top 10 places to live in Australia"

When l moved here 4 years ago for work l was skeptical as l was coming from a much larger city. The people here are very welcoming, the area breathtaking in scenery, only 35mins to the international airport with beaches, mountains & rivers galore l quickly began to see what others were saying about this quaint little town. Since 2017 there has been quite an influx of people moving here from the city’s and busier areas. 2 families in our street are from Sydney this past year, with our friends st on the west side having 6 new interstate families move in within the last 12 months. This increase in diversity & population in the community has kicked off some new bars, eateries and now fine dining, with some great coffee venues now also present. As the population here has now surpassed Byron Bay, the low cost of living, affordable housing and excellent facilities and the natural beauty of Murwillumbah is creating a very unique and interesting vibe within the town and its surrounds. My family and l leave to Brisbane for work in 6 months time and will leave behind a wonderful experience that we won’t soon forget. Thank you Murwillumbah, we will be back.

And, I didnt mean you. I meant as all the people moving up in general have made it impossible, for people who have lived here most of their lives or all of their lives , to afford it. The rental (4x1) next to where I used to live has just rented out for $840 a week! I loved that 5 years ago murbs was an undiscovered paradise. My children whom are all born and raised in murwillumbah will most likely never be able to afford to buy their own homes here, that iiheartbreaking
