Albany Creek

"I would Not buy a house here again"

We bought a house here back in 2018 and I wouldn't buy anything here again.
Yes, my review is biased because I work in the CBD. No train station with 5-6 kms. The nearest stations are Carseldine, Straphpine and Enoggera, so commute to the CBD is a nightmare if you rely on the routes 357 and 359. If you dont believe me, check with Google maps and/or Translink app. Driving to the station also won't help you at all, you will spend same 30 minutes to Enoggera station as Old Nothern Rd is pretty busy every morning.
Some of my coallegues live twice further but spend slightly less time to get to the office. Nearly forgot to mention, if you miss 6pm 359 to Albany Creek you are stuck in the CBD for an hour because the next bus only at 7 pm.
Please also keep in mind that AC is within Moreton Bay Regional Council, we also have Caboulture, Deception Bay, Lawton and so on within the council borders. If you think there is no difference between Brisbane City and Moreton Bay Council's, unfortunately, there is a lot small ones. As a first example, forget about yearly white waste kerb collection, so you have to get your stuff to the dump site by yourself or hire someone. For me, it is annoying and I miss Brisbane City Council where I took it as granted.
To be fair it is slightly cheaper than the nearest BCC suburb McDowell.
Albany Hills, Albany Creek primary schools are not that bad and definately better than average but, again, McDowell or Aspley schools are better.
My personal opinion, Albany Creek is not awful but there is nothing good about this suburb taking into account the house prices. I would look elsewhere.
P.s. I cannot give 2.5 star rating, so I have given 3, so please note it is 0.5 star overrated in my review.

Hmmm, Bias opinion indeed.

All depends on your situation I believe, work hours I.e. time to leave work or home, driving to work or not etc.

I take 20 minutes to get to the city in the morning and 30 minutes to get home after work but I start at 6am and finish at 2:30pm most days not to mention I drive in and park in the city.

I do agree with the shitty council, not even a green bin here.

All of the above, yet myself and partner absolutely love this area!!

Friendly and safe environment.

Such a peice of paradise near the bush, yet so close to the city, best of both worlds.
