Muswellbrook

"Bad Reputation - Good Investment!"

Muswellbrook is booming. It is a town reliant on the coal industry and with that comes dust, higher cost of living and large trucks. But if you can deal with these three things Muswellbrook is a fantastic place to live, raise a family and invest. I was born and raised in Muswellbrook and after a stint on the Gold Coast and in Newcastle I am excited to be moving back to the town. The idea that every person in Muswellbrook is unfriendly and rude is laughable - not to mention excessively insulting.

Muswellbrook has high rental returns as much of the growing population consists of high earners with much disposable income and in turn the ability to pay these amounts. If this was not the case the rental prices in the town would be much lower to suit the market. There are a variety of schools - Christian, public or private - that cater to the diverse population. As well as this there are many churches, social groups and sporting clubs that utilise the numerous sporting fields and halls.

Even though the town has a large variety of social clubs (book clubs, VIEW club, mothers group, ABA, bible studies, youth groups, etc) it is lacking in entertainment. There is not much to do for people without an imagination - it is a country town at heart. This is unfortunate and I do hope that in the future we will have a broader variety of entertainment options such as a cinema or bowling alley.

Muswellbrooks proximity to the Hunter Valleys many wineries, horse studs, as well as to Scone, Tamworth, Denman, Maitland and Newcastle ensures that residents have a full event calendar year round. If you get into the spirit of the region and attend Scone's Horse Week, Scone Grammar School's Fete, the rodeos, Denman Food and Wine Fest, the Muswellbrook Black Coal Cup Race day... the list goes on... you will never be bored and your quiet weekends will be a blessing!

Yes it's dusty, short on Westfields and has a dodgy council estate but overall Muswellbrook is a great place to be. There are opportunities for those willing to take them and once you get involved in everything the town has to offer you will never be bored.

LMAO Rae - that explains a house I saw for sale in that area that was 'just' $100,000!! I was right, thinking the price tells you if the area is any good.
