Muswellbrook

"A picturesque mining town with so many opportunities for bright people!"

Love Muswellbrook! Moved here from Sydney a year and a half ago because I REFUSED to pay 1.5 million dollars to live in a dog box and have bankers breathing down my neck for the rest of my life! Bought a gorgeous house, have made beautiful friends from all walks of life. LOVE the energy of this place. Love the fact that it's a mining town, as contentious as mining is! There are so many opportunities here for smart people who are willing to put the effort into regenerating this town, preparing it for prosperity well after the mining companies have left. There are interesting things to do, there are two major shopping centres, a great hospital, superb educational facilities, art galleries and artisans, winemakers, horses, cows, coal...olive groves!
The locals are either very wealthy or very poor which although not ideal, presents a wonderful opportunity for the right team of fabulous people to lift the identity and spirit of the local community so that our people become active constituents of the big-picture dreams that can be realised in a town like Muswellbrook.

I am looking to collaborate with such people! :-)

Hi Pi Chi! Are you still in Muswellbrook, and how are you finding it? Did you/Were you able to join any community groups to meet some new friends? We are looking at putting in an offer on a house this week..but a bit nervous after some of the reviews. As a Community Services worker, I like your outlook- " presents a wonderful opportunity for the right team of fabulous people to lift the identity and spirit of the local community so that our people become active constituents of the big-picture dreams that can be realised in a town like Muswellbrook." Have you had any fruition with this?
