Altmann Road

"Acreage on the edge of a great country town."

34 Altmann Road is a 450ha property with a beautiful old stone cottage and a pistachio orchard. It is in the historic town of Quorn in the Flinders Ranges. The heritage Pichi Richi trainline runs beside the property, as does a branch of the famous Heysen Trail. Quorn is very well serviced with an R-12 school, hospital and medical centre all within 800m of the property. Within another 200m are cafes, two chemists, IGA supermarket, butcher, hairdresser, newsagent, the Pichi Richi Train Station, post office, and four historic hotels; two of which have recently changed hands and are having trendy make-overs. Sports, live music shows, horse riding events and stunning walking trails are just some of the attractions in Quorn. And of course, the road beckons to explore further into the Flinders Ranges. The pistachio orchard is a wonderful addition to the property. An easy crop for novices, fun to market and amazingly good for you too. The property has its own bore to supply orchard water and supplement town water if you choose, along with plenty of rainwater. There is a great little lined and air-conditioned studio which could be used as extra accomodation, a home office, gym, art studio, kids’ room, or just a lovely private retreat. There are garden sheds in the pretty cottage garden, as well as a huge vehicle and machinery shed with lock-up section and a mezzanine floor. The property is absolutely perfect for a lifestyle change no matter what stage of life you’re at.
