Mill Park

"Jasmine Drive"

I have lived in Mill park for the past 6 years and have found it to be an excellent place to live in. We are close to great shopping areas such as Lalor shops and University Hill and MILL PARK Stables. The facilities are fantastic. We have BMX tracks, local parks, golf course within walking distance. The YMCA centre is a 5 minute drive from our home which has gym and all sorts of leisure activities. We stroll down to Botanica Park Estate, feed the ducks, kids play on the equipment and enjoy the tranquil serenity. Some mornings we hear the kookaburra birds. The neighbours in our street are fantastic. We keep an eye out and help out each each other. In the past there were some hoons from some social housing down the road. The police cleaned them out and the place has become much safer and better to live in. People walking the street are generally friendly and will say G'day. We have been enjoying high speed cable broadband cable unlike some estates like Botanica Park where customers can only access slow DSL speeds and require a satellite dish for Foxtel. There are no overhead powerlines. You will see native birds like Kookaboros, Lorikeets, Corellas, Cockatoos, Magpies, Grassparrots etc. The BUS stops are just round the corner giving access throughout Melbourne top facilities including schools, shops cafe's etc. The nearest train station is Lalor or Thomastown, requires a 10 minute drive. Plenty road is 1km down the road providing tram access. RMIT university is within walking distance 600 meters. There is main bike trail that links all the way to Melbourne CBD, within 100 meters from our home. We are approximately 20km from Melbourne CBD. As a cyclist it takes me at best 42 minutes to ride into the city. An averge bike ride would take an hour via the bike trail passing through suburbs such as Reservoir, Preston, Thornbury, Northcote, Fitzroy and Carlton.
