Wembley Downs

"An absolute pearler..."

Fantastic location, a minutes drive to the beach or just walk it. Neighbouring Floreat, City Beach, Churchlands etc with easy access to Subiaco, Cottesloe, Scarborough and the city. Great schools, loads of mature trees and birds everywhere. One of Perth's secrets! I can't rate it higher.

"It's like tentland....poor quality investment properties scattered everywhere have ruined this place"

Once a genuine working class area, there was significant progress made in the 90's with some great renovations of the older homes but the local Councils infatuation with allowing people to subdivide their blocks and build crappy investment properties makes this place look like tentland. Now full of transients who rent, there are heaps of cabbages speeding around the streets without a care for residents. South of Scab Beach Road is definitely the pick of the bunch but my advice is keep heading south and get into the western suburbs if you intend to live here.

"Its No. 7 ranking in the "best suburbs to live in Australia" is justified"

Walk to Kings Park, walk to the river, 5 minutes to Cottesloe, 5 minutes to the City, 5 minutes to Subiaco...loads of restaurants, leafy streets, lots of trees and birds, safe, low crime rate, quality schools on your doorstep, beautiful homes with proud owners. Buy here if you can cos once you do, you won't leave.
