If you are considering moving to Morwell - Dont.
I have lived in Morwell for a while and let me tell you, it is not worth it. I consider Morwell to be a wasteland consisting of people and lack of livlihood. The general economy in this area is going downhill rapidly due to closing business' and little to no employment opportunity.
Morwell has a shockingly high crime rate; the police are on my street 24/7 and it is not safe at all at any given time of day. The drug epidemic here is growing by the minute and the number of people it is affecting it also shocking.
The shopping is limited to mostly mid valley( shopping centre) and it has some alright shopping options where as the town itself have only few shops to choose from. On weekends you would be lucky to find a cafe or restaurant open at midday and it is like a ghost town.
And if you are super lucky, you might run into a friendly person. Public transport is good as there is a train station and bus interchange that run frequently on every day of the week.
If you are looking for a comfortable and stress free life, Morwell is definitely NOT for you.
Avoid this town like the black plauge unless you would like to get on drugs and become a rambling toothless centrelink bludger who harasses people on the street for ciggarettes and bus money as a 9-5 job then by all means go right ahead.
