Cranbourne South is a peaceful rural residential area, but still close to suburban facilities. There are walking and equestrian trails closeby, a golf and country club within walking distance, a local pony club and riders' club and the area is frequented by native birdlife and a small group of eastern grey kangaroos. The local primary school and general store are nearby and shopping centres at Cranbourne and Pearcedale are a ten minute drive away. There is a railway station in cranbourne with a reasonably good service to Melbourne. The area could do with a reliable bus service, but with the development of Botanic Ridge (adjacent medium density suburb), that will probably happen. I have lived there for 13 years and still love it.
