"Greens Beach is a hidden gem!"
Greens Beach is a stunning location next to a national park and the ocean with walking trails, abundant wildlife and a friendly community. Greens Beach takeaway serves great coffee and food as well as having a very comprehensively stocked and good value convenience store and is an Australia Post agent. For all additional needs, Woolworths online and Cole’s delivers or there’s more shops, cafes, restaurants and services 15 min away in beauty point/beaconsfield. The Golf Club next door has a bar and active community. There is a popular caravan park next door. The foreshore esplanade adjoins the dunes and a sandy white, child friendly beach. There’s a community garden hidden at the end of the foreshore. Council recently adopted a master plan for the foreshore area which will be under development in stages and add more amenity to this beautiful area. For such an amazing place to be less than 1 hour from historic launceston city, slightly more than 1 hour from a national airport and in a valley full of vineyards and cellar door wineries it feels very undiscovered. The climate is one of the mildest in Tasmania due to maritime influence and climate records show it has never been below zero and never above 30. Typical coldest month minimums are around 7 degrees compared to inland which frequently falls into the negatives. Conversely inland in launceston can easily reach 35 degrees when greens beach is sitting at 28. It’s sunny northern aspect and reflection off the ocean adds to this sense of being bright and warm relative to many parts of Tasmania. Definitely easier on the heating bills and easier to garden without always dealing with frost and extreme minimums. To top it off there’s a bulk billing GP clinic 15 min away and some of the best Indian restaurants in Tasmania. Cafes at beauty point and Beaconsfield are top notch. A lot to love about Greens Beach and surrounds.
