"NewSettler"
This is a new suburb approx 10 years old,
Nice to live here as there's quite a few new shops around, however, don't expect trendy and flashy shops here. They're there to serve the simple shopping needs.
There's a new Coles, quite a few pizza and pasta restaurants, Medical centre, Nandos chicken, Thai restaurant, Chinese take-away, Sushi, Fish n Chips..and a few other new shops are currently under construction.
The suburb is right opposite the new Golf course, coles and many gyms and new YMCA fitness centre.
Travel to CBD is easy via access to the new Western Hwy (formerly known as Deer Park bypass) which takes little more than 10 minutes to get to Westgate. Buses also within the suburb and express trains take as little as 18-20 minutes with few stops to Southern Cross station.
Drive in and off Derrimut estate will cross little traffic delay due to this new suburb isn't sharing the road with other suburbs hence number of vehicles aren't as many during the peak hours.
You'll find many parks and recreational facilities, childcare centres, schools and before and after hour child care centre all within the Brimbank gardens estate of Derrimut, and yes you'll get fast ADSL/2+ Internet access and recently improved Optus mobile reception helps too.
Would recommend to families and young professionals who prefer easy access to CBD and very close to surrounding suburbs - Sunshine, Cairnlea, Caroline Springs. It also take little time travelling to other suburbs like Point Cook, Laverton, Trugannina and Altona.
Neighbours here are very friendly. You'll find residents of multiple backgrounds and they're very nice...
Great for
- Has a golf course across the road with manficient views of the CBD
- Lovely new suburb close to CBD
Who lives here?
- Professionals
- Families with kids
- Retirees
- Trendy & Stylish
What kind of internet speeds do you get in this area? i.e. Upload / Download from www.speedtest.net? I lived in Cairnlea a year ago and the ADSL2+ speeds were beyond horrible. I'm looking at moving into this area and my fear is the internet quality / speed will be the same... Unfortunately only ADSL2+ exists in this area or I'd go Cable.
