"Small country town"

Positives:
Small town where people are willing to help, close to home if you work in the mine, lots of community groups, scenic area, frosty winters with often minus temperatures at night, hard working teachers at local school, quieter and safer than city locations, good sized acreages that are cheaper than city prices, good for horse people or people living wanting space safer for kids to wander, quiet country town, good local cafes open during the day and a food van, not far from Perth, cheaper house prices with larger blocks compared to Perth, a lot of potential for the main street if managed correctly, mostly a mining town with farming, great to live local instead of camp with 2 mines in town.

Negatives:
Can attract bogans and hoons but not as noisy as the city, transient town where youth wander around, unusable river for canoeing due to trees and limited water in summer/autumn, can canoe only short distances, expensive land rates and deposit if purchasing a home, clicky gossipy town like all small towns, noisy dogs in sound parts of towns, main part of town can attract some homes that have loud parties/noise, not a lot to do out of hours as this is a quiet, country town, can be expensive for food costs, limited work options, town growth hasn't occurred as projected so population has remained similar stable over 5 years.

Not a lot of options for tourists and locals but a great clean, well maintained caravan park, main park in town well looked after, the rest of the town needs a facelift and out of town parks and trails desperately need looking after, main street requires uniformity compared to Shire building, main street needs an upgrade, money needs to be managed better to improve the main part of town.
