Very affordable, close to shops, cafes and transport - an all round great place to live!
Epping was established around the 1890's so has a lot of beautiful Victoria weatherboard house in tree-lined streets, with a couple of small parks. Most blocks in Epping have a backyard and/or outdoor entertaining area. There are also some very large blocks, many of which are now being subdivided and redeveloped as townhouses. There are also numerous apartment blocks and you can pick up a one or two bedroom apartment for a steal, so something for everyone really! There is plenty of unrestricted on street parking.
We bought in Epping because it's a nice area but, surprisingly, it remains one of the most affordable Northern suburbs in Melbourne! I think it's affordability is attributable to to the fact that it is a relatively unknown suburb. However, with the northern becoming a popular place for young professionals and families to buy, more and more people will want to live in the 'the pocket in the pocket'!
