Caringbah

"I was wrong...."

Ok I'm coming back to review Caringbah with my tail between my legs. We have actually bought a villa in Caringbah and I now see what a nice place with friendly people it is. We are very happy living here now (off the Kingsway) and I regret my uninformed comments in 2010. We've met some lovely people and it's so nice and quiet with easy parking in our street. I can find everything I need up the road, it's not far from the city and you can even walk to the beach. There are still a few crazies around but there are in all suburbs. I would recommend it to anyone now that I've lived in the "burbs" part.

Great for

  • Great Restaurants, Banks, Post office
  • Doctors & chemists
  • Close to CBD
  • Good for families
  • Access to public transport

Who lives here?

  • Professionals
  • Singles
  • Families with kids
  • Retirees
  • Beach Lovers

What a bizarre comment, and totally incorrect. Caringbah is a diverse suburb (almost a small town in its own right) that encompasses the entire gamut of land use, demographics and society groupings. From the industrial areas in the north, which contain the bulk of the transport throughways, and the inevitable, inherent beavioural and social issues, to the green, waterside havens in the south and around the bays, Caringbah is an amazing microcosm of "Anysuburb, Australia".
The Kingsway is the main arterial route between Cronulla and the North-South corridor to the west. It is probably the busiest road in this district and is going to carry its own issues with it. The Kingsway at its eastern end in Cronulla, is almost a peaceful suburban street, with a varied and interesting streetscape.
Its commercial heart, in Caringbah, is a busy, vibrant thoroughfare, which has seen more than its share of high-density residential development.
Please dont criticize this wonderful area just because of a noisy street.
Caringbah has no more, and probably less of a 'drug problem' than many other locations in suburban Sydney.

I'm sorry...but I have to agree...it is a dump...the town centre is rubbish...there is nothing there...nobody goes there if they don't have to...only for chemist or banking...I lived there for 8 years and it has only got worse...iits dirty full of druggos and kids that vandalise and roam the streetsf it wasn't for Cole's and Wollies it would be nothing...it's a scary place especially at night...and the constant noises of sirens was unbearable...the neighbours were trashy and classless people....I think Caringbah is the ugliest suburb in the hire...a big thus down from me...

Well, move. Caringbah central might be a bit run down, but the suburbs, particularly south of the Kingsway, are some of the loveliest anywhere in Sydney. Real estate prices are realistic, Value of homes remains stable. Its all +++ for Caringbah to live in.
By the way, it is illiterate people like you that give the whole "druggos and kids that vandalise" scene some validity. If you are going to comment with authority, then at least learn a language in which to communicate effectively.
