"Noisy, plagued by construction, a downright awful place to live"
Maybe Campbell street will be a nice place to live in 5 - 10 years but right now don't bother. There are 5 high-rise’s going up around the now 4 year strong active construction surrounding the clem7 tunnel. It is so noisy here 24 hours with the night works from the road works and the day construction for all the new residential apartments going up.
There are absolutely no restaurants in the near by area and apart from its close proximity to the train (which includes the noise freight trains going by at 2am, 4am and 6am every night) there are no conceivable redeeming qualities in this place.
Bowen hills and Campbell Street in particular is worse than hell, the devil himself would no wish to inflict the kind of suffering its inhabitant deal with on a daily basis. DO NOT LIVE HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
Internet's OK.
Great for
- 2 hours of silence from construction per day
- Easy access to clem7 tunnel
- Soothing constant sound of trucks compression breaks as they enter the tunnel
Not great for
- 22 hours of construction noise
- Grafitti and vandalism everywhere
- Constant noise from trains
