Grebe Street

"Grebe St Stirling is a lovely, well cared for oasis in the heart of hectic city living"

Grebe St is a fantastic, friendly and central street in the heart of Stirling. Close to everything including transport, shops, school and the freeway, it’s the perfect place to live.

I would recommend this street and suburb to anyone as there is a broad range of people of all ages living together in harmony. A quick walk up the road takes you to the park or the local bottle shop, or fantastic IGA supermarket. A short stroll down the road finds you at yet another local park which is just another of the numerous parks and recreational areas you will find in this suburb.

The locals here take care of their properties and there is a strong European feel to the suburb which I just loved. I wish I could still live in the area but due to work commitments, we had to move and take our children out of the fantastic Lake Gwelup Primary School who’s catchment you fall into if you live down the Western end of this street.

Yangebup

"Yangebup, the understated and underappreciated up and coming area."

I grew up in Wembley and have a university education and a managerial background and bought my first house in Yangebup 7 years ago. We lived on and alleyway and one street back from the main road and I still loved the area.

The location and the close proximity to everything is a great feature including access to lots of shops and shopping centres, the local Chinese is the best in Perth and access to transport and the beach are excellent. We never locked our cars and we were never broken into.

There are lots of young people buying their first homes and having their first children. Heaps of parks and parkland along with established trees and gardens give this suburb a lovely green and lush feeling making it perfect for raising kids.

The majority of the adults in the area are responsible and respectable and any trouble we had in the area came from several youths living outside the Yangebup area. Trouble makers are in EVERY suburb including the exclusive and expensive area I grew up in.

Since the purchase of our first house, we bought the one next door too and unfortunately, had to move down south for work so we rented these houses out along with another property we have in Stirling. The tenants we have had over the years have been of a better quality than the tenants we have in had in Stirling. Stirling is another Expensive and upmarket area and we have considered selling this rental and buying more in Yangebup as we receive a premium rent in this area and the tenants respect and look after the properties.

All in all, I would suggest people give this understated and underappreciated suburb a try. Don’t listen to the negative people who still believe this suburb is a low socioeconomic area and not the up and coming area of the future. Just think of the opportunity of owning or renting a property in such close proximity to the new Marina that is being built in Coogee. (5 min drive down the road) I say Cha-Ching!!
