Devonshire Street

"Great public transport, best of Croydon but with the convenience of Burwood"

Devonshire Street is 10 minutes walk from both Burwood and Croydon train stations. From Burwood station it takes 10 minutes by train to the city (first stop Redfern), and Croydon station takes 19 minutes (about 4 stations during peak times). There is also a bus that runs the length of Devonshire St every 30 minutes; directly to Burwood, Five Dock and Drummoyne. It is a quiet, tree-lined street with mostly free standing houses (a couple of semi-detached and no units or high-rise).

Both Burwood and Croydon have quality restaurants (Chinese, Japanese, Italian and Lebanese mainly) with affordable prices and streetside eating under umbrellas. The council has put a lot of work into creating a nice streetscape with trees, paving and hedges. There are also large annual fairs and plenty of community activities. Burwood Westfield and Plaza are also within 5 minutes drive, making shopping very easy.

Despite being so close to busy Burwood, Devonshire Street is very quiet and has no through traffic or noise. It is the last street within the prestigious Malvern Estate area, so benefits from historic homes, good planning and large size blocks (street was built out during 1900-1920). The neighbours are very friendly and often outside in their gardens (which adds to the security and amenity of the street).
