Mooroolbark
17th October 2026

"A peaceful, green and friendly suburb with Dandenong views, great parks, helpful neighbours and easy train access to the city"

Moving to Mooroolbark, I’ll admit the winters took some getting used to. Some mornings I need a jumper, jacket and beanie just to reach the station! But this suburb quickly won me over. The green hills and misty mornings with the Dandenongs in the background are beautiful, and it often feels more like the countryside than Melbourne. It’s peaceful, safe and friendly, with lovely parks, walking trails and neighbours who happily share gardening tips over the fence. The Lilydale train line makes getting into the city easy, and shopping at Chirnside Park and Lilydale is only a short drive away. My only wish is for more variety in local restaurants, especially international cuisine, so I don’t always have to drive further afield for a good meal. Overall, Mooroolbark is a calm, green and welcoming place, perfect for families wanting space, fresh air and a big backyard to grow a garden.
