Ok, there are pockets of Stafford Heights that aren't as nice as others but, lets be honest, this is the same of all suburbs. I have lived in a few different Brisbane suburbs and I have actually found this the most livable and have been here for five or so years. Actually, we have decided that should we ever move, we will likely remain in the area!

The public transport is excellent- regular and reliable, and you can even get off several of the buses at train stations if that is what you prefer. We have Stafford City, Chermside Shopping Centre and Brookside all within easy driving distance and quite a few little corner shops tucked away in backstreets as well. Lots of doctors surgeries, tons of churches and traffice is generally pretty good with the main roads carrying most of the traffic and the backstreets remianing quiet.

Our neighbours, for the most part, have been absolutely ideal. We have, admittedly, had some issues with 'doof-doof' music however we find a vast majority of the neighbours very friendly and supportive. As for hoons, they mostly seem to come from the Aspley direction if at all, and do not generally seem to originate within Stafford Heights itself.

Lots of good schools as well with 4 State primarys, at least two Catholic primarys I can think of and a high school with a very good reputation very close by. My children attend school in the area and we feel that they are very safe walking or bus-sing it home.

Value of the properties in the area is excellent and in five years, we believe that our home has appreciated over half again of the original purchase value. I would recommend that if you are looking to purchase in the area you have a good drive around to check the area out as there are definately pockets of not so nice elements. However, I have found that these areas are pretty obvious as the properties are generally less well maintained in appearence.
