Dilston is 12km north of Launceston on the East Tamar Highway(currently being bypassed with a new 4 lane highway, due to be completed within 12mths which will divert ALL traffic that is not local so there's more peace and quiet coming soon!).
Dilston is the most northern suburb of Launceston, situated on the eastern side of the Tamar River. Very private, conservative, retired, business ppl and families live in this suburb suburb with no close neighbours over the fence.
Very friendly neighbourhood with a population of just over 600 residents. Wonderful River and Mountain views in all directions. Having lived here for 5 yrs we love the peace,quiet and tranquility of the area. Living in the country only 10-15mins drive from Launceston city centre, I would recommend Dilston highly as a place to live. Very sought after suburb.... 5 stars!!!
