"The Best Neighbours!"

Having lived in Cuckoo, it one of the BEST places to live and bring up a family. The neighbours, the atmosphere, the ambiance of the place draws you to it. The friendliness of everyone in the Valley is apparent the moment you get there. We left to look after elderly relative and miss the people, the place, the cattle and the wildlife and the best fresh water in the world. We would love to go back ASAP!!!!

Gofton Street

"Great country living"

Scottsdale has what every family requires. Great schools, great hospital, great freindly atmosphere. This is a town where everyone enjoys living, working and retiring here. Living in Scottsdale seems to bring out the best in almost everyone. The sporting clubs and facilities are superb and having the coast so close, enables some wonderful fishing, this is not to leave out the river and creek fishing, it's wonderful. This town enjoys the best of all worlds in having a visual impact on the senses, the mountains, walking trails, farm experiences and all the tourist could ever wish for are here. I have made some of the best friends i could ever imagine having. The shopping is very good and the fashionistas are not left out here, also the pubs, restaurants and clubs offer some of the best cuisine around. Live here? Yes and glad we do!

Great for

  • Good housing, shops, hospital, schools, child care, fishing, boating ,walking ,experiencing!

Not great for

  • Havnt found any!

Scottsdale

"A placec for families and retirees"

Having lived here, it is foremost in my mind that the friendliness of most if not all Scottsdale people is great. There is peace and quiet, activities for children and plenty of things to do for adults. The clubs and hotels offer wide ranging meals/activities and the fishing is great. To live here is to feel wanted and the people of this town certainly know how to be friends and companions when needed. The schools offer all that can be offered by way of education and community development for students. The fashionistas are not left out in having several shops dedicated to the fashion minded males and females. Tourist flock here and are given a host of activities to conquer and explore. I love Scottsdale and it's people and would recomment this mighty town to anyone thinking of a great country experience.

Great for

  • Shops, schools, hospitals and doctors, fishing, exploring, fun and friendship.

Not great for

  • Well if there are any, i havnt found them.

Mount Beauty

"Safe, Friendly"

Mt Beauty and it's surrounds are the perfect place to live, retire and work in. This 'little' town has all the services a growing family require, it is 50 minutes to Albury Wodonga and is a hop, skip and jump to the wonderful snow fields of the High plaind and Falls Creek. The schools here are two of the best in the state and have some of the highest achievers in them. Mt beauty has what retirees want, PEACE and Quiet and if the needs be a great hospital serviced by some of the best doctors and nurses in Victoria. Friendliness is a byword here and with bowls, cricket footy, walking trails it ranks tops for sporties, fishing, boating, skiing, walking and more. Bikers also have a turn in 'sharing' the roads and there are many events that bring in a host of tourists. Live here? YES!

Great for

  • Peace, quiet, sports, schools, hospital, friends, events, clubs and fun.
  • Fashion shops, hardwares x2, friends and fishing

Not great for

  • ? dont realy know of any.

Wilby

"great to live in"

Wilby has the benefit of being so very close to Yarrwonga yet far enough away to avoid the tourist rush. Close to water sports, markets, shops and hospitals. Wilby has the bonus of large blocks with amenities on hand such as power and phone. The cost of land and housing here is a bonus as it really has not been discovered by the southerners as a base for touring, water sport and families.

Great for

  • Land value, power and phone, small distance to big shopping experiences

Not great for

  • No readily available town water.
