Melbourne's best kept secret. Great place to live. Ticks all the boxes for all ages. Private and State schools, cinema, good shopping and great restaurants. Freeway close by and good train and bus services. Retirment villages and plenty of doctors, specialist, dentists, etc. Great Community health centre.

I was born in Ireland and moved here with my husband and children 7 years ago. We bought land in Sunbury (Ashfield estate) about 6 years ago and built a nice family home so we're living in Sunbury 5 years. I have no negatives at all, we have all settled so well here and we love the place. Yes you get some ferrals but you get them everywhere.

@angiemca.. Good to read your post here. We are looking at purchasing a block of land at Rosenthal estate which extends to Maiden drive in Ashfield estate. Can you please advise how safe is the ashfield estate especially around the maiden drive and the neighbouring streets

I lived in Sunbury for 34 years, it has kept the country feel fairly well. the little town ship just keeps getting better and better, with a wonderful array of restaurants, and entertainment for Children, a cinema, community centre, and services, a memorial hall where they have community get togethers. lots of schools and churches. the little theatre company. made lots of lovely friends. could alway find what you wanted without having to go to the city. train station close by, only 10 minutes to the airport. on a negative note parking is starting to be a problem, and I didn't think it was fair that we had to pay for the Melbourne parks and gardens water. we should have stayed in Bulla shire. but all in all a great place to live.
