Laverton
8th March 2026

"Close to the city"

Laverton offers great connectivity to the CBD, with the train taking only about 23 minutes. Property prices were quite reasonable when we purchased in 2021, but they have been steadily rising since then. Many of the older houses in the area are now being sold and subdivided by builders, who are developing new townhouses.

The nearest shopping centres are in Altona (around a 6-minute drive) and Williams Landing (about a 7-minute drive). There is also a good selection of restaurants located opposite the Laverton train station.

For schooling, St Martin de Porres—a private Catholic school with relatively reasonable fees—is a good option. Some residents prefer it over Laverton P-12 College, which has a less favourable reputation locally.
