"A Great Place To Live"
I've lived here for over 3 years, and love it. It's a nice quite suburb, that is close enough to access the city and major shopping, but also just a drive in the opposite direction for some great country scenery. Public transport is well served via buses and the train station.
There's a couple of local parks, though it would be good to see the local council install exercise equipment like they have in other suburbs.
It's well serviced by 2 small local shopping centres, as well as Coles @ Waterford, and the new Woolworths @ Holmview.
The only downside that I have found was when I tried to get a broadband internet connection, and was told that there were no available ports at the local (Waterford) exchange. This meant that I had to go with mobile broadband, or dialup. Unfortunately, the coverage for mobile broadband can be pretty hit or miss. I am with Vodafone, and was told that there shouldn't be any problems, but my speeds were slower than dialup. I don't know about Telstra as I'm not a fan of theirs, but no other internet provider was able to provide coverage either. I basically had to go and buy a dialup modem to use until a port freed up at the local exchange (5 months). ...... It should be noted, that this is a problem for all new connections in the Waterford exchange area

Hi..I've just finished reading your comment here on Bethania, and wondering if you knew whether the ADSL Situation has improved ...? we're thinking of renting in the area, and need decent internet..we are currently living at Buccan, which according to this site http://www.broadbanddeals.com.au/qld/logan-village/ before we moved here , we were able to get ADSL and within the area..So we had to get Satellite which is costing us a fortune :( because we weren't close enough to the Logan exchange..some information from a local like yourself would be invaluable, and how are the net speeds there in Bethania...? this is very important as I home school my son who's doing his senior this year and most subjects are internet course based..Thanks for your help..JD
