"Rundown and lacklustre"
A mixed bag of rundown delapilated houses mixed in with reno jobs. Metal bars on windows and 2m+ fence lines. Hardly any parks or anywhere to sit. Full of snobby boomers and their kin that still live with them as adults. Unleveled pavers that you constantly have to watch so you don't roll an ankle. You still need a car that to get anywhere and when you do you'll wish you weren't driving. The streets are super narrow and you'll be fighting between the office drones and tradies for who gets "right of way" first. Enjoy.

"Quiet, peaceful Nairne"
If you're looking for a nice and quiet suburb surrounded by beautiful nature and wildlife then Nairne may be your pick.
A few good eateries, a 24/7 gym, pharmacy, post office, bottle shop and a supermarket for every day needs.
Only 7min away from Mt. Barker where you can get anything else that you may require.
Only 35-40min drive to the city if you need to commute for work. Very easy to get on the motorway with no congestion.
Nairne has all the pros of living in the hills without many of the negatives.
