This street used to be so quiet with good considerate neighbours, unfortunately not any more. Loud engine from the bloody Harley dxxkhead biker down the street at 4.30am every morning! The sad thing is people don't think there's any wrong with that when being discussed in the community forum. The local pub is another disappointment serving horrible food and pricey beer! It's a pub for god sake! Serve your normal pub food at pub price! The bar service is another big put off! Also, locked up your garage and cars, installed a good security camera if you can, make friends with your neighbours and look out for each other, the useless coppers here don't do nothing except for posting unsolved crime on the community page. In short, Ormeau is still a great place but avoid halfway drive.

Such a nice suburb with friendly people and good kids. Good public schools and heaps of private schools around.

Ormeau Hill and Ridge are the newer areas which we much prefer. Houses are newer and modern, however, land is tiny. Houses in Norfolk village are heaps older, and I meant heaps heaps older. OK to rent but expects bursting pipes and old dated houses with interior problems which you won't know until you moved in. The plus point with Norfolk is most houses are on big land.

To be honest, houses in this street are so old that I wouldn't pay more than $400 for rent for a 4bedroom house. Might consider buying at low price as they are so old and dated that they will be good project. There are problems of burst pipes every now and then in different houses. A few commission housing in the same street is another minus point.
