Fenwick Street

"Gateway into Clifton Hill"

This beautiful tree lined street forms the perfect gateway to Clifton Hill if you enter from Heidelberg Road. Wide, plenty of street parking, and with easy access to the newsagent, mini-supermarket and Quice Cafe on Spensley Street. The other advantage of Fenwick Street is that it marks the first street where there isn't restricted time parking. The streets closer to the Clifton Hill train station (3 blocks away) have restricted time parking which is inconvenient if you have friends over.

Clifton Hill

"Hidden treasure so close to the city"

It's pretty hard to fault Clifton Hill as a suburb. Very close to the city, serviced by 2 train lines, bus and tram routes and easy access to the major thoroughfares to the rest of Melbourne, yet it's still a quiet hidden enclave with ready access to the Yarra/Merri Creek linear parks and parklands. Whilst it may lack as many retail outlets other suburbs (not surprising given it's tiny size), the adjorning suburbs of North Fitzroy, Collingwood, Abbotsford, Carlton etc and the famous streets such as Smith, Brunswick and Lygon Streets means you have all the convenience of the retail shops with none of the traffic or noise issues!

Whilst southern suburbs like Prahan have the 'prestige', I actually believe Clifton Hill to be a better suburb. Larger houses, better parking/less congestion, as good amenities, and closer to the cities.
