Autry Court

"A great family-friendly environment"

Autry Ct is a quiet little cul-de-sac that is a part of a 1980's housing estate just off Trouts Road. It is within walking distance to a small, slow-paced shopping complex which includes an IGA supermarket as well as a cafe, medical centre and a gift shop that is also partly a cafe (something that is very much unheard of). The centre plays a big part of the community and if you know people who live close to the centre, you would be quite likely to see at least one of them when you visit there. Other facilities within walking distance from Autry Ct include McDowall State School, bus stops, a nature strip with a playground and dog off-leash area and the Downfall Creek environmental centre, which includes an information centre, walking trails, barbeques and picnic tables, etc.
What is undoubtedly the most prominent part of Autry Ct is the large mystique yellow building at the end of the cul-de-sac. The building, which differs significantly to the rest of the neighbourhood, is what was supposed to be a luxury mansion, which would have been suitable for a large family and a few pool parties, but it had never been finished and still remains unfinished over 20 years later.

South Station Rd

"A place where you can walk to just about anything."

Brisbane Road is one of inner Ipswich's major roads, running from Dinmore to Newtown. Although Brisbane Road can be pretty busy during the peak hour traffic, it is a major hub for Ipswich's commercial services. Several car salesyards are located along Brisbane Road, as well as family restaurants, which include Sizzler, McDonald's, KFC, Red Rooster and Hungry Jack's. Retailers include Bunning's Warehouse, Sam's Warehouse and Crazy Clark's, as well as several convenience centres and sidewalk shops. Also on Brisbane road is the Booval Fair shopping complex, which features a Woolworths supermarket and a Big W store that has only recently undergone extensions and renovations to enhance the Big W experience from a rather small and unspacious store. As well as retail, Brisbane Road is also nearby to several different parks including Queens Park, which is the oldest developed park in Queensland and includes a Japanese garden, playgrounds and several sporting venues.

It's been years since I've been to Ipswich, and it seems to keep on growing! Thanks for keeping us updated.

Albany Creek Road

"Main road in Albany Creek"

Despite the fact that it is one of Albany Creek's busiest roads, Albany Creek Road still plays a part of the friendly relaxed lifestyle of Albany Creek. It acts as a mini CBD for the Albany Creek, Bunya and Eatons Hill area, and includes an abundance of shops, family restaurants, sporting complexes and medical centres. There is also a Centro shopping complex on Albany Creek Road, which provides a slow-paced atmosphere as well as one of the largest Coles supermarkets in Brisbane and over 30 specialty retailers. Another smaller supermarket, Aldi, is also under construction about 100m from the Centro complex. As well as all this, Albany Creek Road is also located just a short walk from primary schools, a high school and parklands.

Rigg Place

"Sleepy yet pleasant little cul-de-sac"

Named after actress Diana Rigg, Rigg Place is a small and quiet cul-de-sac in McDowall that was constructed at the time that McDowall was developing into a suburb of the greater Brisbane area. There are two bus stops located just at the end of the street with access to the city and Chermside Shopping Centre and two more on Rode Rd nearby that serve the Great Circle Line and other bus lines. Rigg Place is also within walking distance from the McDowall Primary School and a community-based shopping centre with a supermarket and discount variety store, as well as an abundance of parks and nature reserves.
