People sometimes mix up Dandenong and Dandenong North, but they are quite different suburbs. Dandenong North is a safe and quiet area, set away from the bustle of the well-known Dandenong Market, yet close enough to make weekly grocery trips convenient. The neighbourhood has a strong sense of community—my neighbours are friendly and genuinely look out for one another. Since settling here, I’ve spoken with most of the residents in my court, many of whom have lived in the area for decades, some even for generations, and they consistently shared that they have never experienced a robbery or any serious crime in their homes during all the years they have lived here.

Dandenong North is also very well connected, with easy access to the Monash Freeway (M1), EastLink (M3), and the Princes Highway, making it straightforward to get around Melbourne.

As a final note, from local experience, the areas north of Heatherton Road are widely regarded as the safer parts of Dandenong North.
