Moores Pocket Road

"Quiet and pleasant, very livable!"

Moores Pocket is one of the better suburbs of Ipswich, boasting living close to the Breamer river and in quiet surroundings, it certainly is a wonderful place to live. Not only do you have wonderful neighbours and beautiful bird life but this is a place where you can relax without worrying if your kids are going to get run over by speeding drivers. There is plenty of room to move, a local corner store, and you are mostly surrounded by retirees.

"Upper eagle street Collingwood Park...NOT the place to be"

From a first glance the new estate area in Collingwood Park looks fabulous and the place where you would want to raise your family, that is until you are subjected to the numerous unlicenced underaged or drunken trail bike riders that scream up and down eagle street with no consideration care or safety, except for 2 young teenage boys wearing full safety gear and walking their bikes up into the back bushland. If you want to be broken into this is the place to have it done, it seems alot of scum have and are starting to converge on Collingwood Park making it very unsavoury and undesirable. Unless you own a dog that will bite or you are at home 24/7 you wouldnt be brave enough to leave your home, I was there 6 months and was broken into 3 days after i moved in and when I was moving out. My neighbours were also broken into, the police do nothing about the people who done it, we all know who they are but they were smart enough not to leave finger prints, but left trails from houses they broke into back to their home. If you love parties 24/7 on the weekend, public holidays and during week nights then this is the place for you to show you have no consideration for anyone what so ever. Collingwood Park SUCKS, live there if you want to but my family and many other families got out because of the worsening violence and crime in the area...its really not worth the grief and not worth the money.

Sorry, but what a load of RUBBISH!!! It's sad you have had some bad experiences, Where are you getting your statistics from that families are leaving due to worsening violence and crime? latest statistics show that rents and property value is rising and the so called boagans are being forced to pack up and leave, which is making way for more professional families to move in. Regarding the suburbs safety, tell me a suburb in Brisbane/ Ipswich that doesn't have some sort of crime happen? I have lived here coming up 2 years now, and leave my house unlocked all the time and never have had any problems.

Ok, not all of what is written in the first post is entirely rubbish. We are not far off Bassili Drive and been here for over 12 months. We are renting our house, and everyone else in the street owns theirs. Since moving in 15mths ago, we were broken into within the first 8wks. A nice warm welcome to the neighbourhood. Since then we have had a lot of our personal items go missing. My hubby is a tradesman and alot of stuff in the back of his ute has gone "walkabout". We also own a boat and my hubby preparing to go early on a Sat morn fishing with our son, prepacked the rods, etc the night before. We are talking 10pm and they were leaving at like 4.30am the next morning. All the rods, tackle box, everything went missing. We know who and where. Not hard to work out it has to be someone close by who is watching!!! I wouldn't dare leave my doors unlocked. We have a dog, she is not friendly. I would trust my life with her. But since she is fenced in the back, that still leaves access to the front. I wouldn't recommend the area. Or if you do, leave every single item you own under lock and key. if you leave you doors unlocked, you are asking to be robbed. Sorry, I wouldn't say we have had bad experiences, just learning experiences. It has been one big nightmare. And before we move, the person stealing our belongings is going to get one rude shock!!

We have lived here for two and a half years. I am a medical scientist, hubby is a warehouse manager. Never had any problems, quiet roads and kids playing outside. Lots of families here. There have been a few late night parties but no trouble, just people enjoying a birthday or whatever, never on a week night. The houses are great value for money, a 4 bed, 2 garage house is around $289,000. The commute to brisbane is a bit of a drag but worth it to have the house size affordable to us. Coming from England, this is not a bad neighborhood, people keep themselves to themselves and gardens are generally kept tidy. The place will be opening up soon with the addition of more retail/commercial and residential builds happening. We like it here, no problems at all.
