Having lived in various suburbs in Melbourne, I love the green, big blocks of Bayswater. Friendly neighbours, peaceful and quiet with great access to public transport. Bayswater was looking a little tired, but with all the new builds it has very much been revitalised.

For the previous poster who complained about his car being broken into and side swiped in a car park - GET REAL! Such things can happen in any suburb. I have lived in so called 'expensive and safe suburbs, such as Surrey Hills and Malvern, and have experienced more violence and crime in those suburbs than anything in Bayswater. This included a stabbing in front of my old house in Surrey Hills.

Highly recommend Bayswater as a safe, friendly and affordable place to live.
