Willana Avenue

"Tranquility in a Suburb on the move!"

We bought in Willana Avenue 5 years ago, after having rented a house a few streets away. We were impressed by how quiet the suburb is at night, the location (genuine 5 mins walk to shops, close to schools, bus, ring road), and the size of the blocks of land. There are still quite a few original houses from the 1950's, which clearly need updating. However this will happen over time as more families move into the area - particularly with the new school being built just up the road (with the cycling path along the disused railway line providing a safe walking route for children). The blocks are a good size for developers to build units on, which appears to be happening to a lot of blocks with older style houses in need of major renovation. My only concern with the neighbourhood is very poor mobile phone reception, but hopefully this will improve as networks improve their technology. The street is very quiet generally, with surrounding streets more heavily utilised by through-traffic. We are now renovating as we are keen to stay, but the 1950's house needs some work!
