"Peaceful Suburb - yet close to everything."

I lived in a unit overlooking the river at the end of Hodel St for 5 years and absolutely loved it. It has views of the city and was so peaceful and quite overlooking the river that a friend called it 'The Ranch' as across the river are the grazing pastures for cattle owned by the DPI and at night all you could hear was their mooing. The bike-way runs along the river and around near the golf course (1 street away) so is fantastic for those who like to exercise. Hodel St is also just off Queens Road with quick access to the city and strand (5 minutes) and Charters Towers Rd that takes leads you onto Castletown Shopping Centre or down Ross River Rd to Stockland. Also 2 minutes down Hodel St is Coles, Brumby's, newsagent and the Rising Sun Hotel & drive through bottle shop. Ten minutes drive from Lavarack Barracks, the hospital, primary school and JCU with access to bus stops just down the road. Great suburb for unit living - especially if close to river or golf course.
