Dayboro

"How's the serenity!!!...more than just a home its a lifestyle"

Having lived in the area now for over 15months, i feel able to voice my opinion fairly.
I work at Kangaroo Point and yes it takes me on a average of an hour to and hour and half to get to work. But having always lived in the suburbs i can justify the drive for the lifestyle i live.
No speeding cars or hoons no raging parties, just lovely peace and quiet. Nature and wildlife. It is beautiful.
I built my house, i have not used a fan or a heater for one day since moving in. There is no need the air flows beautifully around eliminating the needed for artificial heating or cooler, therefore saving money.
I have kangaroos, echidna and many birds in my backyard. I have only ever seen one carpet snake since being here. I have 10 acres with native bush on both sides of me. I mainly get very small spiders around the house.
I mainly shop in strathpine on my way home but call into the local IGA, butcher, bakery or petrol station should i run out of anything i need. My kids play footy at the local club and swim at the pool. There is a great hairdresser and the pub has bands with great meals.
If you want to escape the rat race of the burbs then Dayboro or Ocean View is the place for it. You feel like you have stepped back in time yet are only 20 mins from Petrie/Strathpine.
My older 2 children go to Pine Rivers high and catch the free bus to and from school which picks them up from the end of the street.
It is a great community and excellent for kids.
Get the out of the house and infront of the TV and have them outside playing with animals or riding dirtbikes...it is a great life to live.

Thanks for the post, we are looking at buying land out there or Mango Hill as we live in that area now. We love Dayboro always have. Just a few questions in regards to the first persons post on this site and water issues. Are there water issues being on bore water or is it the same as being in town? I know they mentioned smell and taste and leaving scum in their toilets is this true as I can't find anything else that supports what they say? Also flooding I know it has flooded a couple of times, Do you know how many and how much of an issue this is or If they are doing anything to prevent this happening in the future? Thank you

Ocean View

"Beautiful mountain suburb with views forever"

From the moment you drive up the mountain to oceanview you know it is something special. There is no traffic just rolling hills with cows and horses. It is a good 2-3 degree's cooler with lovely breezes to cool the hottest of days. Sit back and watch the native animals while the wind blows through the tree's. 5km's to dayboro village with doctor, chemist, shops including a IGA, resturants. hairdresser, cafe's and take away. Show grounds hold various events and the annual rodeo and show. Football, soccer, little athletics, a public swimming pool and gym, bike park are located easily at hand in Dayboro. Oceanview has wineries and B&B's. Acerage living for peace and quiet....How's the serenity? Damm good.

Strathpine

"Family orientated suburb, with good facilites to suit everyone"

Having lived in Strathpine most of my life i have seen alot of changes. There are lots of parks, with play equipment for children, boat ramps and Bbq's. The main park holds various events throughout the year such as car shows and the christmas concert. There are public and private schools both primary and secondary. One of the main High Schools being Pine Rivers High which offers excellent resources for education and establising a career and many opportunities for extra activity. Many child care centres are located within Strathpine. There is rail, bus and taxi services available. Westfields shopping centre is the main shopping zone with the main street of Strathpine holding many smaller shops and businesses. The local Moreton Bay council, Centrelink, Medicare, Respite and Disability services can also be found. There is a private hospital, plenty of medical centres, imaging and Qml and Chemists to choose from. Plenty of dining choices are available such as Sizzler, Gillholleys, The four mile creek hotel and the usual take away shops and fast food places. Lawn bowls, ten pin bowling, gyms, local pool, cinemas, game zones and sporting clubs are also located within the area. Strathpine is a well rounded suburb with almost everything in it and easy to get to.
