Bowman Close

"Quiet, safe street with magnificent views!"

Bowman Close is quiet street comprising three cul-de-sacs, which means no through traffic, you only drive in if you live or visit here. As a result there is a lovely sense of community and neighbours look out for each other, kids ride their bikes in the street all day on weekends. It feels private and safe. I would say most of the houses in the street are owner occupied. This street seems to attract more than its fair share of police (Federal and state), prison staff and base personnel, which only adds to feeling secure! There are two parks in our little street.

This is a fairly new area in town, so the standard of houses and insfrastructure are great.

There are lots of places to walk the dog without seeing traffic!

The views from our yard are superb! Sunsets are stunning over the ranges/Mt Gillen!

Telstra reception is consistently great.

Bowman Close is just off two main arterial roads (Larapinta and Bradshaw Drives). Its a short drive from town. Diarama Village is a short walk, a Mobil petrol station close, two IGA's, Foodland and Milners Meats all close.

The area hasn't flooded despite all the rain in the last 12-18 months.

Araluen Christian Community College is really short stroll for the kids.

Very happy we bought here.

Great for

Queen Street

"Laid back leafy urban oasis in the heartland of factory shopping."

I bought a townhouse on Queen Street 3 years ago and I love living here! Its a tiny suburb and such a safe area. Lots of people with kids and dogs. I walk to work. Its such an easy place to live! Queen Street is lined with trees and feels like a little urban oasis. Its so close to everything, yet so quiet and seemingly removed from everything. I love the light industrial mixed with residential. Santa comes down the street every Christmas Day with a Patrol car from Redfern Police throwing out lollies (great for kids)! Pharmacy Warehouse and bulk billed Medical Imaging place on Botany Rd. 24 hour gym on Botany Rd. Cellarbrations and great IGA Botany Rd. Plenty of take-away food options within walking distance or heaps of home delivery choices. Graphic Arts Club @ Mascot. There is no 'nightlife' ie clubbing or eat in restaurants in Beaconsfield. We live there for peace and quiet. Its a short cab ride to King Street or Darlinghurst or CBD for nightlife!

Council are great and keep the street and lanes very clean. We have three recycling bins. Green waste bin emptied every fortnight others weekly. People are friendly. Its so close to the airport, Green Square, buses, factory outlets (so great for shopping). Free street parking.

Cafes
We love our weekend breakfasts! There is a cafe in Queen Street (cnr Collins) that does great coffee. There is another cnr Beaconsfield & Ralph St that is so cheap and has great coffee, very friendly too.

Parks
There is a gorgeous park with a fenced play area for children, plenty of benches scattered around, lots of trees, BBQ area, tennis courts, and lots of grass to kick a ball around or walk the dogs. Lots of people meet regularly in this park for picnics, walking the dogs etc. Its very social. There is another small park on Beaconsfield Street.
