Woronora

"All is not what it appears!"

Having lived in Woronora for over 10 years I found it
to be visually beautiful with some nice people. However of late
i'm saddened to say the area has changed dramatically. We have
cheap housing for rent in the caravan park with ex prisoners being
moved back into society. The crime rate has increased, the pollution
is in more abundance, there is a hoon mentality of whompers on the river
and a noticable increase in alcholism, drugs and grafitti. I wouldn't recommend it for
families as the river is now far too dangerous to swim. The fact that it also a flood
zone on the waterfronts was the catalyst for my departure having seen the
damage in brisbane.

Great for

  • Visual aspect
  • Proximity to water
  • Bush setting

Not great for

  • Caravan park
  • Whompers on boats
  • Local club

"Out in the sticks"

I am very happy to be leaving. This place is a bushfire hazard, clicky residents that think they are better than you and out in the middle of nowhere. Dont get sick or you may not make it to hospital. There are ticks everywhere, snakes and every other bit of vermin. Dogs sometime bark all night and there is nothing to do up there what so ever. Forget about having kids its too far from any school. No sewerage or water. Do yourself a favour and buy on the coast somewhere where you are closer to civilisation. I am now living very happily on the Gold Coast where I have an acreage close to the beach schools, shops and Hospitals and for less money than here with substainly more price growth.

Going on 20+ years here the kids get picked up at the front of our house for primary school and high school by the school bus. Like minded people who love the easy life and love animals the peaceful life is so easy and still close enough to Shops and Hospitals no street lights and the night sky is brilliant with out light pollution.
A place is what you make of it we are lucky enough to live in gods country.
