i have lived in Wellington point for 14yrs. I too was concerned about the midgees before moving here. Depending on the wind, you may find midgees on sunrise and sunset. However we live along the point and because of the consist sea breeze the midgees are never really an issue. At sunset once the sun goes so do the midgees. they never invade my home, so either stay inside for the 1hr either side of sunrise/sunset or use a little bit of bug spray. the bugs are not an issue and would never cause me to move from wellington point. I love we can have a bbq at any time and not be bugged by the flies or mosquitoes.

Midge bites are bad anywhere you go. The best thing to do is pour citronella oil around your property in the garden, once a onto and it reduces the effect tremendously.
