Looking for a home in Woodville South?

"Great friendly neighborhood, Quality Homes"

We have just purchased here in Woodville South quite recently and we are amazed at how friendly people are! We previously were living at the 'in-laws' in the eastern suburbs where nobody says hello or even smiles. So the friendly faces are a welcome change.

There are lots of parks and shops around. Even a dog traning park just five minutes walk away at Woodville Oval (Oval Avenue) So there are definatly plenty of things to do.

We have found Woodville South to be very safe and quite. Talking to neighbors that have lived here for a while, there seems to be no history of crime in our street at all.

If you are thinking of buying here.. DO! honestly, just drive around the streets and have a look at the quality houses, both new and old, and you'll see what I mean.

"A lovely neighborhood"

My Husband and I built our home in Walkom Avenue back in the 50's. We brought up our kids here and our grandchildren. We made liflong friends here also. Our kids used the local schools and parks while we used the local butchers and markets. Nowadays we have several nearby supermarkets (but still have the local butcher) We have never had any intention of moving, the neighborhood is very safe and quiet. Our street is not used as a thoroughfare. We have noticed a lot of new houses being built around us, with new families moving in which is great.

I question the veracity of the report given our family built in the street in 1954 and we have no recollection of any mckays ever living in the street between 1954 to 1990 or through the now as the article implies. Of the 12 houses in the street there are only 6 families who remain from the 50s and 60s and no grand kids grew up in the street that I am aware of - ---- mmmmmm

"The Glen Precinct is the place to be!"

I have lived here all my life, fantastic area, very neighbourly and good mix of families and retirees.
The "Glen" streets have some beautiful character homes, backing on to the Oval Ave facilities with the oval, tennis club, bowls club and dog park. Woodville South is the place to be!

"Nice suburb"

Lived in Lucas St a few years ago. It was pleasant enough, some of the old houses along Oval Avenue were beautiful. Lacked a little in terms of services in the area, parks, schools etc.

Rentals in Woodville South

"Very up & coming suburb"

Have lived here for 2 years now, got in just before the development boom in Woody South. You only have to drive around the streets and see that at least every street has new houses being built everywhere. Investors are sinking lots of money into quality housing here. Then you have the Glen's with there large blocks and beautiful houses, Woodville oval has a great atmostphere on game day too. Lots of parks, shops, schools and other services are all nearby. Short drive to the City and Beach and West Lakes Mall. Safe and quiet and no problems getting mobile phone network or ADSL2 internet... what more do you want?
