Reviews of Woody Point, QLD

"Excellent Spot"

Well, it's like the Australia I knew as a kid, cool old beach houses, people visiting on weekends and families!
I love the foreshore area, looking out to the Bay and the impressive sunsets over the area.
Yes, the area is changing and it's great!! The council have done wonders here....

Looking for a home in Woody Point?

"Beautiful sea side suburb!"

I bought in Woody Point 7 years ago as I fell in love with the place driving there and could see that allot of work and upgrades where being put into the area. The location is perfect, it's not too far and not to close to the city. It has easy access to the Airport and is surrounded by water, great walking tracks, swimming areas, restaurants, shops and cafes. I can only see Woody Point becoming more and more popular, also more and more expensive. Highly rate this area!

"2020 Review"

Moved here end of 2018 and love it here. Previous reviews look a little older and the motorway has since been completed thankfully. We are just on border of Woody Pt. and Clontarf .. It seems to be attracting alot of families and young couples now which is fab.. See so many people on weekends walking down the St with paddle boards and cycling.. we are 10 mins walk from water so around 3 or 4 streets back which Im complety wrapped with.. prices more affordable than immediate proximity to water.. Seeing others active gives us a boost and we hop on the bikes on weekends and cycle from Woody to Scarborough..its truly a beautiful ride and the smell of the ocean is intoxicating at times..I was going to get air con but breezes and swimming at Suttons beach which is only a 10 minute drive away is perfect.. then we head up to have bite at cafe on strip at Redcliffe hub..if the markets are on at time, even better.. Truly a top spot and no regrets about moving here.. work in cbd so just grab a train from Redcliffe (they completed it a few years ago) or from Sandgate.. just 10 mins drive away.. so yes only good things to say and neighbours wave and dont over impose which is nice.. Happy moving :)

"Varies a lot"

There are good and bad areas of Woody Point. Lower areas near Clontarf have a lot of ferals and bogans and too many barking dogs. Terrible, we could not move out of there quick enough. The small pocket on the hill is much nicer and quieter. Woody Point has easy access to motorway which is great, although we can't wait until they fix up the motorway through nudgee which is a bad bottle neck. Close to redcliffe and scarborough foreshores which have nice facilities and markets. Nice coffee shops all around woody point foreshore. Lots of local sporting clubs and venues for arts and crafts, close to library. Lots of supermarkets etc to choose from. We are not fans of the mudflats in moreton bay and miss nice blue ocean and white sand beaches. The breezes on the peninsula are a welcome relief in summer. Rent and Buy are fast becoming very expensive and way over priced in Woody Point. The area is full of Horrible small fibro box houses with outdoor stairs etc. Disgusting substandard houses that are on top of each other and have no noise or heat proofing. Overall, although this suburb has good facilities, the housing drags this area down a lot.

"Lovely beach side village living"

Moved here 1year ago from country vic !
Very quiet area most days, Hardly see neighbours can become more busy over weekends with traffic heading down to redcliffe area. Beautiful walks along the beach at Scott's point are so relaxing . Good cafe fish chip shops & eating places near by,but could do with a bakery or deli ! some of the houses around still need some TLC but woody point is slowly growing with building of higrise units down near the belvedere hotel.
30 mins from airport with no traffic , schools shops 5 mins away love living in this area ..

Great for

  • Beachside living
  • Close to airport
  • Quiet peaceful relaxing area

Not great for

  • No train service near as yet
  • Not much for teenagers to do
  • Some houses needing TLC

Rentals in Woody Point

"Woody Point"

Settlement of the area dates from the late 1800s, although growth was minimal until the 1930s. Significant development occurred during the post-war years. The population declined slightly during the early 1990s, and then increased gradually from the mid 1990s as new dwellings were added to the area.

"Stunning Location without the exhorbitant price tag."

You cannot beat a walk along Whytecliffe Parade on a clear, sunny day. Absolutely beautiful!! If you come across affordable housing in this area. Grab it quickly as it won't last. Locations like this are bound to take off in the future.

"Very Attractive Area : Woody Point Village :"

The Best secluded area on the Waterfront,Tucked away from any busy roads, the Point ( as we local know It) is a beautiful place to live, surrounded by Bramble Bay, The bustling Of People enjoying the local cafes and fine dining, The place to be seen !
It has an air about It, People come from all over Brisbane to sit in a cafe by the glistening water, To See the Rich Boys Playground, Jetski's and Jet Boats come out to play at weekends, The Jetty Is fabulous for fishing and walking out to, The views across the bay are just gorgeous, Likend to Hawaii as One Of my clients remarked, a great place to relax with good company, and a wine or two! Living in the area Is a walk away from everything you need. Woody Point.
