Reviews of Yeerongpilly, QLD

"Hidden Gem!"

Falling along the main thoroughfare just 7km from the Brisbane CBD, Yeerongpilly is ideally situated close to an abundance of restaurants, cafes, shops and services. As a previous resident of the suburb myself, as well as selling homes in the area since 1993, I know what an overlooked gem it is!

It is conveniently serviced by a train station and major bus lines running through the area.

Ample sporting opportunities can also be found in the area including The Brisbane Golf Club, Queensland State Tennis Centre, Yeronga Recreational Park and Yeronga pool. It will also soon be home to one of Brisbane’s newest town centres – Yeerongpilly Green, an $850million development which will include residential apartments, a variety of parks, specialty retail, bustling marketplace and dedicated commercial zone.

For families, there are both public and private schooling options close at hand including Yeronga Primary and High Schools and Our Lady’s Catholic College, in addition to easy University access.

"A hidden gem"

Yeerongpilly shares the same postcode as Moorooka, but is easy forgotten due to its size. It has built a good reputation as a great area to raise a family. You find yourself able to walk the kids to school, both primary and high school. Public transport is very convenient, with 2 train stations easily accessible, and major bus routes found on Ipswich Road and Fairfield Road. Only 7km to the CBD, close to local convenience stores and Fairfield Gardens Shopping Centre. Many of the homes in the area benefit from city views due to the hilly nature of the suburb.

Great coffee shops are only a short walk away. I would recommend for a good breakfast or lunch you try Slinky Espresso (located @ 190 Fairfield Road, corner of Ashby Street) and Anesis in Yeronga (located @ 82 Hyde Rd).

The Queensland Tennis Centre is only a stones throw away in Tennyson, along with the Souths Rugby Union pitch a short walk to the North East in Yeronga, plenty of places to keep the kids active.
