Moving to Adelaide

Adelaide (Greater) Region is located in the state of South Australia.

My husband and I are relocating from Cairns to Adelaide in early October and we are seeking advice on good suburbs to live in on the south side of the city within 10-15 km from the City.

Traffic in the southern suburbs is heavy in the morning, so if you're working in the CBD I would recommend living no further South than Springbank Road or Daws Road. It really depends on what you like doing. As with anywhere, rent to see how you like it before you buy.

You should try and find a place close to where you work. Even though not as big as Syd or Melb, you can still end up spending significant time in traffic in Adelaide.

If you like the beach, then check out the suburbs south-west of the city, specifically have a look at suburbes between Glenelg and Seacliff. If beachside is too expensive, you only have to go inland a little bit to get really good value (I live in Warradale which is about a kilometer from the beach -average house price ~$400K). Schools, shopping and transport is good in this area which is around 20 mins drive from the city.
