As Sales Manager at Moonee Valley Real Estate on Military Road, Avondale Heights for the last 10 years, I have grown up in this fantastic area, attended St Martins primary school through to St Bernards College. 

Being a proud Avondale Heights resident, I believe that the area is very much underated and has the potential to exercise plenty of growth whilst still being in a central location close to all amenities and not too far from the city. 

With so many features to enjoy such as the Maribyrnong River and walking tracks, plenty of local parks and the arrival of new and exciting centres such as child care, fitness centres and the expansion of the Milleara Shopping Centre, this is a safe, family friendly suburb that everyone can enjoy!



An underated and affordable haven so close to everything!

Arguably Avondale Heights most prestigious street, home to the most lavish and expensive properties in the area with the majority enjoyign sweeping city, river and valley views whilst abutting the parkland and walking tracks. 

Not often that properties in this street come for sale, however the lats recorded sale was a 15 year old 3 bedroom townhouse on a block of 3 which I sold in late 09 for $545,000. 

Truly, THE place to live if you have a few dollars!

The main vein in terms of roadways in Avondale Heights, Military Road is home to plenty of local amenities including two seperate shopping strips (one at canning street end, and one across from St Martins), McDonalds, Coles shopping centre, child care centres, police station, public transport and much more!

This street, along with its neighbouring streets such as lake, skewes, deutscher, hanley and thompson are always a popular choice when homes come available for sale. The grid for these streets is very easy to negoitiate and most of the homes located here are your post war standard 2-3 bedroom weatherboard and brick veneer varieties. 

Originally called the 'APEX' estate, the home-owners in this section of Avondale Heights have taken pride in their properties as you will see there are a lot of newly renovated, extended and gorgeous looking homes, which will continue to be the case in the coming years. 

So close to Military Rd, shops, schools and everything else, its no wonder the perviosuly names 'APEX' estate is a popular choice!

the steepest court in the area is home to a good array of different housing, with properties here that are in the $1,000,000 + range as well as a good mix of newer and older townhouses that are 50% rentals and 50% owner occupied. 

Located almost adjacent to the Maribyrnong River and parklands, this is a scenic court with loads of views and serenity that is unparalled! 

WHAT A SCENIC LOCATION NEAR THE RIVER!

Riviera road is a long street that starts up on Military Road with older post war homes (typically 3-4 bedrooms and mostly brick veneer, as opposed to the opposite side of Avondale Heights where it is mostly weatherboard). It continues into the luxurious St Bernards Estate where there are huge double and triple storey mansions that, due to the dips in the road, contain fantastic views of the city and Valley. 

Home prices can vary from $450,000 - $1,000,000 depending on what part of the street you are interested in. 

No bus stops actually ON this street, but there is quick access through the park on Windsor Drive that fix that as well as the bus stops on Military Road. 

It is a lovely street with many parks you will see as you drive through, not to mention the spectacular properties towards the Dickson Street end.
