I was hesitant to move forward in selling my property because of the stress and interruption it would bring to my life. Upon my decision to sell, I interviewed four different Real Estate agents and Ian Qiu stood out above the rest. From day one he was punctual, polite, professional and eager to assist me in every step of the selling process. Ian's communication skills were exemplary and above reproach. My wife and I have just sold our property in Pyrmont through Ian Qiu. He exceeded our expectations. Right from the first meeting we found him enthusiastic, well prepared, and he knew the market very well. He gave us history of his sales in the area and advised us on his marketing strategy, presentation of property and a detailed timeline for sale. As we are living interstate, having good communication was very important for us. He scheduled regular Skype and phone FaceTime meetings with us every week and always rang on time and gave feedback after the open homes. He was proactive throughout the campaign, communicated at every step, emailed us written reports after every open house keeping us informed on interest from prospective buyers. He happens to be a very good negotiator who works for his clients, keeping their interests at heart. His proactive approach and hard work made it easy for us to close the deal before the auction. We are very happy with the outcome and highly recommend him.
We first met Ian at an inspection and told him what we were looking for and invited him to value our unit in Glebe. Obviously, we also contacted other agents, and all gave similar valuations, but we chose Ian initially because he specialised in Jacksons Landing and he could introduce contacts to Glebe. Being a keen salesman, he wanted to put our unit on the market immediately, but we slowed him down. We were very fussy and knew it may take a while to find suitable unit for us. For the next year Ian kept in contact and we viewed various places, not always for sale with Morton. In the meantime, the other agents would occasionally ring and ask if we were ready to sell and that is all they did. Ian was always ready to meet us and talk and arrange inspections, often out of normal viewing hours. In the end when we had almost given up for this year, he came up with an off-market opportunity which suited, and we exchanged. We then had to get our unit on the market quickly. Due to past experiences, we wanted at least some input on the advertising campaign, but need not have worried as all participants were extremely professional in their crafts. To add to the drama, we were going overseas for three weeks and out of contact for some of the time. Ian went to work with his professionalism and knowledge and smoothed the whole thing through. Our unit sold within 10 days of the first inspection and we had made the right choice as he introduced an existing client, who had been looking in Jacksons Landing. In the meantime, we were relaxing on our holiday and on our return, he had arranged a settlement on our current property 7 days before purchase of our new apartment, and for us to rent our current unit until we moved! All so stress free. Ian has a great sense of humour and more importantly was able to put up with ours! Like many people, we do not have a high regard for estate agents, but Ian is certainly the exception and we would recommend him to anyone
